Abstract :
How does one handle soft tissue around teeth and implants during surgery with the end in mind and guided by biology in order to achieve predictable outcomes and optimal healing?
The speaker will cover the designing of full thickness and partial thickness flaps. There will be a focus on how to think about periodontal flaps in 3 dimensions (rather than 2-D) based on histology.
How this approach will enhance outcomes for Free Gingival Grafts, Coronally Repositioned Flaps, Connective Tissue Grafts and Apically Repositioned Flaps will also be shared.
Learning objectives :
- Revision of the histology of oral mucosa and gingiva
- Learning how to reduce the incidence of post-op pain and swelling
- Learning how to raise a partial thickness flap based on histology and treatment objectives
